Life Support Training Institute - Southfield, MI
For EMS professionals, Life Support Training Institute (LSTI) is the best choice for beginning, or enhancing, your EMS career. We have been providing EMS education since 1986. Our graduates work in private EMS organizations, municipal fire departments and public safety departments, and hospitals. Some have even furthered their education, becoming nurses and doctors.
Life Support Training Institute is part of the Medical Education Department at Botsford Hospital. LSTI is one of the largest EMS training schools in the state of Michigan and has been approved by the Michigan Department of Community Health and the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to provide education and training services. LSTI is also approved by the American Heart Association as a community training center which provides training and certification to thousands of healthcare professionals annually.
Classes are available at our Oakland County campus. On-site education can also be arranged upon request throughout Southeastern Michigan.
Our Education Philosophy
Education and training for the individual affects each and every one of us who will ever need emergency medical service. Whether you are an emergency professional, a health care provider or a safety-minded citizen, having the proper training and skills could help people or even save lives someday. Community EMS and Botsford Hospital are committed to providing our community with the best emergency education and training services possible.
In 1986, the Life Support Training Institute was established to meet the growing need for well-trained emergency medical service professionals. In 1992, LSTI was named a Community Training Center for the American Heart Association. Today, LSTI offers classes for professionals, community classes for adults and special programs just for kids. How we teach our students determines to a great extent how they will treat their patients. We incorporate as many hands-on exercises as possible in every program, from CPR/First Aid through Paramedic-Instructor, to make sure that our students stay motivated to learn.
